Lord Tennyson in the poem ‘In Memoriam’, awaits the dawn of New Year eagerly and excitedly, as he writes,
- “Ring out the old, Ring in the new
- Ring happy bells, across the snow
- The year is going, let him go…”
All of school community, the teachers, students and parents echo the same feeling as they wait for the new academic year to begin.
It is indeed a new beginning for each one of us associated with our school, BCISE.
After the reviews, results and feedbacks in April - each of us is better prepared with new ideas, new aspirations and new resolutions to make the new academic year more constructive and more meaningful.
For the students, everything is new. New bags, new uniforms, new books, new raincoats and umbrellas, newly painted classroom, new syllabus, new projects and yet, a sense of comfort in seeing familiar faces. The excitement has just begun…
For the teachers, it’s time once again to set new targets, plan new events and watch children play, learn and grow…
The school campus is abuzz with activities even before the students walk in. Parents come in to pay fees, buy books and uniforms. Orientation sessions are conducted for new parents to acquaint them with the school system. On the eve of the school re-opening, teachers are busy decorating classrooms, flannel boards, corridors to welcome children back to school. Open forums and training sessions are held for teachers to prepare them for the new session. Some core practices like classroom engagement and student participation are revisited, that align the daily work to our school’s mission and vision.
Students have their individual targets for the year. For the sports enthusiasts, they benchmark the seniors’ achievement in the track and field events and aspire to reach there. The prestigious Honour Board is where the scholars are aiming to be. For the Student Council, it’s a new beginning to roll out the student PEACE Code. House Captains look forward to garner maximum scores for their house.
It is that time of the year for each one to make wonderful plans and try to achieve their targets.
The new academic year has arrived.
Ring in the new…. Ring happy bells…..for children are here.
